hello friend
the answer for the question is
characteristics of wave motion :-
1. wave motion is a form of disturbance travelling in the medium due to the periodic motion of the particles about their mean position
2. it is necessary that medium should possess elasticity and inertia
3. all the particles of the medium to not receive the disturbance at the same instant each particle begins to vibrate a little later than its predecessor
4. the wave velocity different from the particle velocity the velocity of a wave is constant for a given medium whereas the velocity of the particle goes on changing and it becomes maximum in their position and zero in their extreme positions
5. during the propagation of wave motion there is transfer of energy from one particle to another without an actual transfer of the particles of the medium
6. the wave undergo reflection refraction diffraction and interference
hope I done my best
hope it helps you
