Which you can also find in any explanatory keybook.. but I'm providing you with it here...
# Portia is a rich lady of Belmont and is the most intellectual character of the whole play..and is the finest too ever written in history
# she is far known for her beauty and suitors from all over the world are eager to marry her from all four corners of the world
# she is a rare combination of wisdom and sensibility as presented in the play..which makes her one of the most important shaspearan heroines ever read
# her intellect is seen in her with which is really sharp and doesn't offend anyone either
# she is self confident , resourceful and creative.. can take decisions on the spot .. and can carry them on with almost might..
# with a perfect blend of mercy and justice.. she FIRSTLY pleads Shylock to forgive Antonio.. but later she makes the plot interesting by revolving it off to Antonio's side by her legal weapons
# Portia is essentially feminine in nature but shows masculinity in the trial scene... Doesn't shy away from saving someone even..
# she is a loving, dutiful and obedient daughter.. who obeys her father's will
# she is modest and self-restrained in her love for bassanio but immediately after her marriage.. she lets him go to save his friend.
# as a dutiful wife.. she goes to Venice in disguise for saving her husband and his friend..
# her biggest virtues are displayed in the "speech on quality of mercy" in the trial scene.. thus in this scene.. Portia becomes the centre of the story..and saves Antonio from Shylock's webs

Hey there,
Portia is a never forgettable character of Shakespeare's one of the most epic works "The Merchant of Venice'.
Portia was well know for her beauty and appreciated by all for her charm and attractiveness. She was rich, witty and clever. She was a daddy's daughter(obeyed his sayings) and marries the man who had won the competition organized by her father to choose the correct companion. She was married to Bassanio, who was a noble Venice lad.
Shakespeare compares him to a lawyer(famous saying (Philadelphia's lawyer") as she often managed to get rid of some situations.
