maristimatic tissue is the dividing tissue. It promotes growth of the plant parts such as shoot, roots, internode etc.
it is of three types:
1)apical maristime
2) intercalary meristem
3)lateral maristem

CHARACTERISTICS OF MERISTEMATIC TISSUE :

1) the cells of meristematic tissue are similar in structure and have thin and Elastic primary cell walls made up of cellulose.....

2) the meristematic cells may be rounded ,oval ,polygonal or rectangular in shape

3) they are compactly arranged without intercellular space between them

4) each cell contains dense on abundant cytoplasm and a large prominent nucleus

5) the dense Protoplasm of meristematic cell contains few small vacuoles or no vacuoles at all......
