Antigen is the foreign particle that invade the body of an organism . In other words any forgien substance which enters into the body is capable of stimulating an immune response called an antigen.

Antibodies are being used for diagnostic purpose. They are being used to detect infections.

They are of 5 types

IGg , IGa, IGm , IGe , IGd.

There are composed of 4 polypeptide chains .

Two chains are shirt called light chain , while two chain are long are called heavy chain.

Each light chain is made up of 214 amino acids and each heavy chain is made up of 450 to 700 amino acids.
