Chemical properties of acids:
Acids react with reactive metals. Acid + metal → salt + hydrogen.
Copper and silver do not react with dilute acid.Acids react with bases. Acid + base → salt + water.
Acids react with carbonates. Acid + carbonate → salt + water + carbon dioxide.
Bases :
Many substances we use in the home are called bases. Dishwasher tablets, washing powder and cleaning liquids all contain bases. Antacid tablets used to treat indigestion contain the bases magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide. Bases can be oxides, hydroxides, or carbonates of metals. Ammonia is a base even though it does not contain a metal. If a base is soluble in water we call it an alkali. Alkalis dissolve in water to form hydroxide ions.
Chemical Properties of Salt
Salts are ionic compounds therefore they show ionic reactions which occur quickly and usually exothermic in nature. Salt do not undergo combustion but electrolysis of salts releases metal and non-metals such as electrolysis of molten NaCl forms chlorine gas and metallic sodium
●2NaCl(l)→2Na(l)+Cl2(g)2NaCl(l)→2Na(l)+Cl2(g)

The reaction of salts with acids is double displacement reaction such as sodium chloride reacts with sulphuric acid to form sodium sulphate and hydrogen chloride.
●2NaCl(s)+H2SO4(l)→Na2SO4(s)+2HCl(g)2NaCl(s)+H2SO4(l)→Na2SO4(s)+2HCl(g)

Similarly aqueous solution of sodium chloride reacts with aqueous silver nitrate and form silver chloride

●(aq)+AgNO3(aq)→NaNO3(aq)+AgCl(s)NaCl(aq)+AgNO3(aq)→NaNO3(aq)+AgCl(s)

Hello Dost ☺

Answer :

Physical properties of Acid and Base :

1) Acids are sour in taste, turn blue litmus red, and dissolve in water to release H+ ions

e.g. HCl, H2SO4, HNO3 etc.

2) Bases are bitter in taste, have soapy touch, turn red litmus blue and give hydroxide ions in solution.

e.g. NaOH, KOH etc.

Physical properties of salt are:

Salt is a white cubic crystals. When the salt is pure it clear.

It is odorless but has strong salty taste.

Solubility in water is different at different temperatures.

Chemical properties of acids:

i) Acids react with active metals to give hydrogen gas.

Eg : Zn + H2SO4→ZnSO4 + H2

ii) Acids react with metal carbonate and metal hydrogen carbonate to give carbon dioxide.

Eg : NaHCO3 +HCl→NaCl + H2O + CO2

reaction.

iii) Acids react with bases to give salt and water. This reaction is called as neutralization

Eg : NaOH + HCl→ NaCl +H2O

iv) Acids react with metals oxides to give salt and water.

Eg : CuO + H2SO4→CuSO4 + H2O

Chemical properties of Bases:

i) Reaction with Metals - Certain reactive metals such as Zinc, Aluminium, and Tin react with alkali solutions on heating and hydrogen gas is evolved.

Eg : 2NaOH + Zn→Na2ZnO2 +H2

ii) Reaction with acids -Bases react with acids to form salt and water.

Eg : KOH +HCl→KCl +H2O

iii) Reaction with Non -metallic oxides – These oxides are generally acidic in nature. They react with bases to form salt and water.

Eg : 2NaOH + CO2→Na2CO3 + H2O

Thanks ☺
