· (i) Fundamental Rights are the promotion and enhancement of Human Rights. (ii) Fundamental Rights primarily protect individuals from any arbitrary state action. But some rights are enforceable against individuals. For instance, the Constitution abolishes untouchability and also prohibits 'begar'.

Enforceable: These rights should be executable
Recognised by society -sanctioned by law: These rights should be respected by the members of the society and backed by law.
