Hormones are chemical substances that coordinate the activities of living organisms.
Characteristics of Hormones ----->
1) They are secreted by small amounts by endocrine glands.
2)They are released directly into the blood and carried through the blood by the circulatory system.
3)The hormones are produced at one site but show their effect on other sites ,hence called chemical messengers.
4) They act on specific tissues and organs called target organs.
5) They coordinate the activities of the body and help the organisms in growth.
