A political party has three components, viz. :

(i) The Leaders: Who formulate policies and programs of the party and choose candidates for contesting elections.

(ii) The Active Members: Who are involved in different committees of the party and participate directly in their activity.

(iii) The Followers: Who believe in the party’s ideology and support the party by casting their votes in favor of the party at the time of the election.

1. The leaders: A political party consists of leaders who contest elections and if they win, perform the administrative job.

2. The active members: They are the ones who climb a ladder from being the follower and become the assistants of the leaders to gain knowledge about the politics.

3. The followers: They are simply the ardent followers of the leaders and work under the able guidance of the active members.
