Blood

it is a connective tissue and is red in colour due to the presence of red coloured pigment heemoglobin in it.

plasma : it is a colourless liquid and contains dissolved substances like proteins, amino acids, waste products etc.

Red blood cells : they carry oxygen from lungs to the cells of the body and also carry carbon dioxide from the parts of the body back to the lungs. They do not have nuclei. They are made in the bone marrow.

White blood cells : they fight infection and protect us from diseases. Some white blood cells make chemicals known as antibodies to fight against infection. They are called soldiers of the body.

Platelets : they help in the coagulation or clotting of blood in a cut or wound. They also do not have nuclei and are made in the cells of bone marrow.
