Answer:

Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, roughage and water.

Explanation:

There are total 7 components of food in which Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals are nutrients while roughage and water are non-nutrient food components.

Carbohydrates: These are the hydrates of carbon since they are compounds of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen such as glucose.

Fats: These are mainly known as triglycerides. They are organic substances composed of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen.

Proteins: Proteins are composed of one or more mixed polymer of amino acids known as polypeptides. These are the most abundant molecules of the body.

Vitamins: These are organic molecules which are non-energy and non-structural. Humans can synthesize only vitamin D and a small quantity of niacin.

Minerals: These are the inorganic substances and obtained from the earth crust. They constitute about 4% of the body weight.

Water: Water is an essential component of food but it is non-nutrient inorganic substances. Water is essential because it helps in the spacing of protoplasmic constituents, cell turgidity, etc. About 70% of water is found in the human body.

Roughage: It is a non-nutrient and desirable component of the food. It does not yield energy. The daily requirement of roughage is 25 - 50 gm.
