In highly organized plants, vascular tissues (Xylem and Phloem) are the main components of transportation system. In general, xylem carries the water and minerals from roots to the aerial parts of the plants, whereas phloem carries food from leaves to other parts of the plants.

Hope this helps you!!!

The transport system in highly organized plants consists of two different types of conducting tissues.

1. Xylem conducts water and minerals obtained from soil (via roots) to the rest of the plant.

2. Phloem transports food materials from the leaves to different parts of the plant body.
