The plasma membrane / cell membrane is a semi- permeable membrane that covers the boundary of a cell.
Osmosis can be defined as flow of water from its higher concentration to lower concentration through a semi permeable membrane.
So if plasma membrane ruptures, Osmosis stops. Moreover, transportation of gases( Oxygen, carbon dioxide), molecules(glucose), water, etc. can't occur.
Infact the cell will die because it will be exposed to external environment.
So, without Plasma membrane which is of same importance as other organelles, cell can’t survive.
