Answer :

There are many conditions for no refraction --

  • If the incident ray is going normally through the surface of contact of the two surface, then there will be no refraction.

  • If the refractive index of the two mediums are equal then there will be no refraction.

  • If incident ray is greater than critical angle of the medium then again no refraction and Total internal reflection* will occur.

Example-- If light is passing through air and again air then no refraction. And if light is passing through air to water normally to the surface then no refraction.
