Answer: It should be adherent, nonporous and without internal stresses. A good adhesion depends mainly on the preparation of the substrate for electrode position, resulting in a clean surface amenable to accepting a satisfactory deposit. Poor surface preparation can cause peeling of the coating making it useless.
