Plasma contains albumin (the chiefprotein constituent), fibrinogen (responsible, in part, for the clotting of blood) and globulins (includingantibodies). Plasma serves a variety of functions, from maintaining a satisfactory blood pressure and volume to supplying critical proteins for blood clotting and immunity.
