what are the contents of ROM chip fixed inside the PC???

ROM stands for read only memory. The machine can read this memory. The content on this memory is non-volatile. Non-volatile data means the data is available even the machine is rebooted while is RAM the content is erased if machine is rebooted.

ROM contains important data, programs that are required to boot your machine/ PC.ROM refers to memory that is hard-wired, which cannot be changed after manufacture. There are certain types of ROM : EPROM, EEPROM which can be reprogrammed.
