Laputians were a singular race. They were preoccupied or rather obsessed with anything that involved mathematics and music. However they were predisposed to continually predict and regard any cosmic event with general apprehension. The fear of a natural disaster striking them was so great that they were worried constantly and did not have a single conversation that did not involve mentioning the subject.
