It is observed that Premchands books are loaded with a wide range of intense characters drawn from all level of society. In his books, the characters are drawn from everyday educational encounters.

One may see characters like blue-bloods and proprietors, center level workers and landless workers, white collar class experts and individuals from the edges of society. The ladies characters are solid individuals, particularly the individuals who originated from the lower classes and are not modernized.

The focal character of his novel Ranbhoomi, Surdas, is a visually impaired poor person from an alleged untouchable position. One can see Surdas attempting to get back the land that had coercively taken away from him.
