He is the father of microbiology. He was the first person to build microscopes by grinding lenses. He was the first to see microbes in rain water drops and named them as 'animal cules'. .protozoans were first studied by Leeuwenhoek in 1677.His works were recognized only after his death when the papers in which he wrote his observations were found
