Heya !!
Thanks for asking the question!
Here is your answer : -
What is a Cartesian plane?
- The area on the plane covered by x and y axis is called Cartesian plane.
What is y axis?
- Vertical axis is also know as y axis. It is also know as ordinate
What is x axis?
- Horizontal axis is known as x axis. It is also known as abscissa.
Now coming back to the question:
The point which lies on x axis will have it's y co-ordinate ( ordinate ) 0 and it's x coordinate ( abscissa ) can be determined by its distance from x - axis. But for sure in this case ordinate will always remain zero.
Hope it helps you.
