Given:

The distance of Q from K is twice the distance from E.

E and Q are collinear

To Find

the coordinate position of player Q

Solution:

Let the coordinates of the position of a player Q such that his distance from

K(-4, 1) twice his distance from E(2, 1) be Q(x, y)

  ∴ QK= 2× QE

Also, as we know K, Q, and E are collinear

    KQ : QE = 2:1Q(x, y)

          = [(2 × 2) + (1 × -43), (2×1)+(1×13)]

          = (0, 1)

Therefore, the coordinates of the position of a player Q is (0, 1).
