The cholas were great temple builders. Most of their temples were built in the Dravidian Style. The Brihadesvara Temple at Thanjavur is the finest example of Chola Architecture. The temple is now a world Heritage Site.

The cholas also excelled at making images of gods and goddesses. These images were either of stone or bronze, the latter being more popular. The bronze image of Lord Shiva as Nataraja - Lord of dance , is one of the finest specimens of chola Art.
