Considering it to be an open-minded question, I am giving the answer.

Markhors are endangered species of wild-goats, which are known to inhabit the mountainous regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Western Himalayas.

Although their populations are relatively low, they face threats due to overhunting and poaching which is
unregulated and also, due to loss of their native habitat. Since they live in the mountainous regions, there is always the fear of predator attacks, especially from the snow leopards and the wolves. So, they prefer to live on the steep cliffs.

The IUCN and other organizations, like the Morkhur and the Muhofiz, are putting in efforts to conserve and to allow sustainability of the Markhor species.
