respiration that takes place in the presence of oxygen is called aerobic respiration. this is the most common type of respiration exhibited by almost all organisms.

respiration that take place in the absence of oxygen is called an Anaerobic respiration. it is also called fermentation. this type of respiration is exhibited in some organisms such as yeast and certain bacteria.
