The difference between communicable and non communicable diseases:
Communicable Diseases:
- Spread from one person (infected) to another (healthy person) by various modes
- These diseases are Infectious.
- The causative agents are Pathogenic organisms like bacteria, virus, fungi and vectors.
- Naturally it is mostly acute.
- Contagious, spread through direct and indirect contact and through air, water and food.
- This diseases are Non – Inheritable.
- The communicable diseases are Common flu, typhoid, malaria, cholera, dengue, AIDS.
Non – Communicable diseases:
- Do not spread from person to person.
- These diseases are Non-infectious
- Agents that causing these diseases are Genetic, lifestyle-based, nutritional deficiency disorders, developmental disorders, tumor, allergies, etc.
- Naturally it is mostly chronic.
- Naturally it is Non-contagious.
- This diseases are Inheritable.
- The communicable diseases are Diabetes mellitus, anemia, cancer, heart diseases, rickets.
