The difference between communicable and non communicable diseases:

Communicable Diseases:

  • Spread from one person (infected) to another (healthy person) by various modes
  • These diseases are Infectious.
  • The causative agents are Pathogenic organisms like bacteria, virus, fungi and vectors.
  • Naturally it is mostly acute.
  • Contagious, spread through direct and indirect contact and through air, water and food.
  • This diseases are Non – Inheritable.
  • The communicable diseases are Common flu, typhoid, malaria, cholera, dengue, AIDS.

Non – Communicable diseases:

  • Do not spread from person to person.
  • These diseases are Non-infectious
  • Agents that causing these diseases are Genetic, lifestyle-based, nutritional deficiency disorders, developmental disorders, tumor, allergies, etc.
  • Naturally it is mostly chronic.
  • Naturally it is Non-contagious.
  • This diseases are Inheritable.
  • The communicable diseases are Diabetes mellitus, anemia, cancer, heart diseases, rickets.
