• Made from elements chemically bonded together.

• The properties of a compound are entirely different from its constituents.

• It has fixed melting and boiling point.

• Composition of a compound is fixed. It has definite formula.

• It consists of two or more elements or compound not chemically combined together.

• It shows properties of it's constituents.

• It doesn't have fixed melting and boiling point.

• Composition of a mixture is variable.
