What are the difference between rabi crops and kharif crops for 0?

difference between rabi and kharif crops. Kharif crops are sown with the beginning of the rainy season. Rabi crops are sown after the end of the monsoon, i.e. during the winter season. They require huge amount of water and hot weather to grow.

  • There are two main cropping patterns in our country kharif crops and Rabi crops.

KHARIF CROPS :

 1.Sowing season of kharif crops start at the beginning of Southwest monsoon ,i.e June and July because more water is needed by these crops.

2. Kharif crops are harvested at the end of monsoon season during September and October.

E.g - kharif crops includes paddy (rice), maize, soyabean, groundnut, pulses and cotton.

RABI CROPS :

1.Sowing season of Rabi crops starts at the beginning of winter,i.e October to December.

2. Rabi crops are harvested in the months of March and April.

E.g - Rabi crops include wheat, gram, Pea mustard, linseed and barley.
