particles can move past one another.

LIQUID...assumes the shape of the part of the container which it occupies.

SOLID....particles can move/slide past one another retains a fixed volume and shape.

GAS...compressible

lots of free space between particles.

LIQUID...not easily compressible

little free space between particles.

SOLID.,..completely incompressible

GAS..very high fluidity....flows easily

LIQUID...high fluidity...

SOLID.. doesn't flow easily
