What are the differences between autotrophic mode and heterotrophic mode of nutrition?

Autotrophic mode of nutrition refers to the production of soluble organic food material by the organism within itself example:plants

whereas on the other hand heterotophic mode of nutrition is seen in the organism that derive their food from autotrophs
