DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BALANCED AND UNBALANCED FORCE ARE:-

  • Balanced forces are the resultant force which occurs when all the forces that act on an object cancel out each other. Whereas, Unbalanced forces are the resultant force which occurs when all the force that acts on an object does not cancel out each other.

  • Balanced force is a type of force that does not produce any kind of motion in the object though it can produce some type of distortion of the object. Whereas, Unbalanced forces are a type of force that normally results in the motion of the object.

  • In the Balanced Force, the forces are in opposite directions and the total external force in this is 0. Whereas, In the Unbalanced Force the forces are mostly not in opposite direction and the total external force, in this case, is not zero.

  • Example of balanced force:- In the tug of a war game if both the team are applying equal and opposite forces the resultant force will be balanced and there will be no motion that would be produced.

  • Example of unbalanced force:- In the tug of a war game if team A applies more force than B then the resultant force would be an unbalanced force and the rope will move towards team A.
