What are the differences between "commit" and "do"?

Commit means we had done that work earlier.ex: she commit suicide .

Do means we are now decided to do that work at that time ....

She do her homework at time

do is an auxiliary verb whereas commit is like placing somethung under someone's trust
do can be used for partying, performing a task whereas commit is like sworning
