Dry cell: An electric cell in which the electrolyte is absorbed in a solid to form a paste, preventing spillage.

Mercury cell:
A mercury battery is a non-rechargeable electrochemical battery, a primary cell. Mercury batteries use a reaction between mercuric oxide and zinc electrodes in an alkaline electrolyte.

Hey dear,

● Dry cell vs Mercury cell -
We'll see differences about various aspects of these cells.

# Anode -
Dry cell => Zinc
Mercury cell => Zn/Hg amalgam

# Cathode -
Dry cell => Graphite
Mercury cell => HgO/graphite paste

# Cell reactions -
Dry cell =>
2MnO2 + 2NH4Cl + Zn --> Mn2O3 + Zn(NH3)2Cl2 + H2O
Mercury cell =>
Zn + HgO --> Hg + ZnO

Hope this helps you...
