Answer:

EFFLORESCENCE

Efflorescence is a process in which a compound loses its water of crystallizaton when it is exposed to atmosphere.

For example - When exposed to air, sodium carbonate crystals (sodium carbonate decahydrate) loses 9 molecules of water of crystallization to form sodium carbonate monohydrate.

Na₂CO₃.10H₂O -------------->(exposed to air) Na₂CO₃.H₂O

DELIQUESCENCE

Deliquescence is a phenomenon in which a compound when exposed to air, absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and forms a solution by dissolving in the absorbed moisture

For example - When exposed to air, calcium chloride absorbs moisture to form a colourless solution of calcium chloride.
