Pinna- it is a cartilagenous structure that us formed of skin and elastic cartilage. It collects sound waves and direct them into the auditory canal. Tympanum- the extral ear is separated from the middle ear by a membranous structure called ear drum or tympanum. The soundwaves striking on the tympanum produce vibration that are transmitted to the inner parts of the ear.
