What are the differences between pneumatics and hydraulics?

the main difference is the medium used to transmit power. in hydraulic liquid is used whereas in pneumatic compressed gas is used to transmit power.

Hence hydraulics is the better for precision motion transmission. Hydraulics is moving and operating equipment with oil under pressure pneumatics is air under pressure. Hydraulics relates to fluids and pneumatics to gas. Any system working on fluids is called hydraulic and gas (air) pneumatics.
