Primary memory :

*Eg. (Hard disk or RAM)
*It is the internal memory of the computer.
*It is temporary

Secondary memory:

*(Pen drive, CD etc.)
*It is the external memory.
*It is permanent.

Hi,

Primary memory is like temporary storage device which stores data for very short time, like RAM, RAM stored data of particular program which is currently running and some other files which are necessary for Operating System to work properly. RAM loses it's data when we close that particular program and it get's completed free when we shut down system.

Whereas Secondary memory can store data as long as we want, the data can manually deleted by the user, for example: HDD, USB etc.
