All animals and plants are living. All this organism look different from each other, however, all of them are made up of microscopic units called cells.

 \bf\underline{{\underline{Unicellular \: organisms}} }:

Living organism are made up of one or many cells. Organisms made up of single cell are called unicellular organism. Yeast, amoeba,  paramecium, bacteria,  etc are the few examples of unicellular organism. The single cell of these organism act like a complete organism. All the basic and necessary functions of living being like digestion, respiration, excretion and  reproduction are performed by a single cell. For example an amoeba is a type of  unicellular organism that performs all the functions like taking food (ingestion), digestion, respiration, movement, growth and reproduction.

 \bf\underline{{\underline{Multicellular \: organisms}} }:

Organisms made up of many cells are called multicellular organisms. Most of the plants and animals that we see in our nature are multicellular organisms. Trees, grasses, insects, cows, birds and humans are the  few examples of these organism. All multicellular being their life as a single cell called fertilised egg cell (Zygote). The  fertilized egg multipliers and number of cells increases and development of these organisms proceeds. All of multicellular organisms, including human beings, show  division of labour. It means that different parts of multicellular organism perform different functions. For example human body has stomach to digest food, heart to pump blood, bones and muscles to perform movement and so on.
