Meiosis is equational division but mitosis is reductional division

Meiosis is the cell division by which the number of chromosomes are reduced to half.Meiosis occurs during gametogenesis (male and fy gametes formation.In meiosis, numbers of chromosomes are haploid. Mitotic cell division, take place in somatic cells in which number of chromosomes are diploid.
