Psychodiagnostic Testing — A psychiatric consultation consisting of a thorough clinical interview, review of records, and close examination how the patient behaves. This is done by a psychiatrist or psychologist.
It employs the use of written, oral and projective tools to evaluate the mental processes of the given patient and doing an assessment to find out to how their thinking and emotions have a likelihood of impacting their behavior.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
Forensic investigations :
This is applicable where a criminal has been identified to the murderer after forensic investigation and confirmation is required to ensure the killer is not having a psychiatric condition.
Settling insurance cases:
An insurance company will rely on psychodiagnostic testing for a range of disability and indemnity cases. Psychodiagnostic testing is particularly useful in ruling out malingering.

It is used by police departments, the military, and other employers to ensure that those being recruited are psychologically suited to the jobs that they have been called to do.
