Classification of data:

The collected data,also identified as data or ungrouped data is usually during an unorganized form and requires to be organized and displayed in a meaningful and readily understandable form so as to assist further statistical analysis.

Different bases of classification of data:

  1. Geographical classification:
  • The classification of knowledge consistent with location is what classification is named a geographical classification.
  • In other words,we can say that within the geographical classification of knowledge we classify data consistent with geographic area or region.

    2.Chronological classification:

  • In chronological classification,data are classified on the idea of your time of existence ,such as years,months,weeks,days,etc.
  • In such sort of classification,data are arranged either in ascending or in descending order with regard to time like years,quarters,months,weeks,days etc.
  • Chronological data classification is additionally referred to as temporal classification.

    3.Qualitative classification:

  • Classification of knowledge consistent with characteristics and attributes is named qualitative classifications of knowledge.
  • In such a classification;data are categorized supported some attributes or quality like gender,honesty,hair color,literacy,intelligence,religion,etc

    4.Quantitaive classification:

  • Quantitative classification of knowledge refers to variables of quantities which will be either estimated or operated on.
