▶Democratic countries are those countries that function through the election of representatives of people.

▶These representatives make laws on issues that affect the people of the country.

▶Thus, people have a say in the running and decision-making of the government.

▶The governments are also accountable to people for their decisions.

▶Non- democratic countries function through different forms of government that are not elected by people.

▶Thus, their governments are not accountable to people.

▶These include monarchies, dictatorships and single-party rules.

▶Examples of democratic countries are USA, India, Germany, etc.

▶Non- democratic countries include China and Cuba as the governments in these countries are not elected on the basis of elections.
