1. Pituitary gland is the master gland because it controls other endocrine glands, especially, growth, metabolism, it also controls water balance. Etc. Hormones- GH- growth hormone and TSH thyroid stimulating hormone.
2. Thyroid gland regulates the body’s overall metabolic rate, controls growth and development, located in neck region. It secretes hormone thyroxin. Enlargement of thyroid gland leads to goiter, due to lack of iodine.
3. Adrenal gland, located above both the kidneys, we have 2 of it. It secretes adrenaline or epinephrine hormone. It triggers hormone when we are scared, sudden stress, angry or danger and it increases heart beat and blood pressure, by which glucose is released and gives us energy. It controls our emotions. It helps to make to prepare the body to fight against diseases/danger or run/flight.
4. Pancreas is a large gland, located behind the stomach. It releases hormone insulin , which controls sugar level in the blood, by the lack of insulin the disease diabetes , helps in digestion of food by releasing pancreatic juice.
5. There are 2 Ovaries, release hormones of estrogen and progesterone. It’s function is egg/ova maturation and controls changes in a females body. Located in the lower abdomen region.
6. There are 2 Testes releases hormone called testoretrone, it regulates sperm production and control changes in a males body. Located in lower abdomen region.
