1. Power is shared among different organs of government-Legislature , Executive and Judiciary. These are the organs of government at same level to exercise different powers. None of the organs can use excess powers, each of them checks the other balance of powers. It is also called the sysstem of checks and balances.
2. Power sharing is done among government at different levels.
Government for the entire country is called central or union government. At the regional level we have state government and at the lower level we have local government. (This system is not followed in all the countries). Distribution of power is called as vertical division.
3. Power sharing is done among different social grps such as religious or linguistic groups which helps weaker sections to give equality. Community government of Belgium is a good example .
4. Power sharing is done among different political parties, pressure groups and movements to control those who are in power.
