why is it that a metal still doesn't rust if there is a scratch on the surface of galvanized iron metal ?

painting
galvanization
coating with carbon ,chromium, nickel
etc..
became by galvanization iron is protected by rust and if it gets a scratch air, water can go through it and thus the gets rusted
