There are 3 parts of brain :-

  • Forebrain {Cerebrum}
  • Mid Brain
  • Hind Brain {pons; medulla; cerebellum}

Cerebrum {Fore Brain} : main thinking part of brain

all voluntary actions are coordinated by cerebrum.

Mid Brain: it coordinate the reflex actions

ex- changes in pupil size.

Hind Brain-

  • Pons:- takes part in regulating respiration.
  • Medulla:- controls involuntary actions such as heart beats.
  • Cerebellum:- helps in maintaining posture and balance of the body
