Ans:- The different types of epithelium are:-

1. Simple Squamous epithelium:- These are extremely thin and flat and form a delicate lining of mouth and oesophagus.

2. Cuboidal epithelium:- These have cube shaped cell forms the lining of kidney tubules and duct of salivary glands. Where it provides mechanical support.

3. Columnar epithelium:- It facilitates movement across the epithelial barrier. It is found in the inner lining of the intestine.

4. Stratified squamous epithelium:- These are arranged in layer to provide protection against wear and tear. It is mostly found in skin.

5. Glandular epithelium:- It covers both the glands (exocrine and endocrine) of our body. It helps in secretion. It is formed when the portion of epithelial tissue folds inward.

6. Ciliated columnar epithelium:- It is composed of simple columnar epithelial cells with cilia on their apical surfaces. It is found in fallopian tubes, respiratory tract etc. It help in the movement of mucus.
