Eukaryotic cell contains nuclei that are segregated from the cytoplasm by a double membrane. The nuclear material of eukaryotes is grouped into multiple chromosomes bound to the protein histone.
Prokaryotic cells lack nucleus, their nuclear material is distributed diffusely throughout the interior of the cell. Prokaryotic cell contain a single circular strand of DNA and it is absent of histone.
