What are the different types of eye defects to see nearby and distant object?
Answers
There are mainly three common refractive defects of vision. These are (i) myopia or near-sightedness (ii) Hypermetropia or far – sightedness (iii) Presbyopia. Myopia is also known as near-sightedness. A person with myopia can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects distinctly.
Answer:
1) Myopia ( near sightedness) : the person suffering from this defect can see nearby objects distinctly but cannot see distant objects clearly. It is caused due to elongation of the eye ball or excessive curvature of the eye lens.
2) Hypermetropia ( far sightedness) : the person with this defect can see distant objects distinctly but cannot see nearby objects clearly. It is caused due to increase in the focal length of the eye ball or eye ball has become too small.
3) Presbyopia : mainly happens when age advances. Crystalline lens becomes milky and cloudy, person may not be able to see the objects clearly.
