spindle fibers. Spindle fibers form a protein structure that divides the genetic material in a cell. The spindle is necessary to equally divide the chromosomes in a parental cell into two daughter cells during both types of nuclear division: mitosis and meiosis.

Types of Cell division produced during cell division:

Spindle fiber is the one of the fiber which is responsible to form the protein and divide the genetic material of a cell. Spindle fiber is essential to divide chromosomes in a two daughter cell in both mitosis and meiosis division.

In the mitosis cell division, spindle fibers are known as mitotic spindle and in the meiosis this spindle fibers are known as meiosis spindle. Spindle fibers also have microtubules which originated from the centrioles.
