Heterotrophic mode of nutrition is the nutrition in which the organisms depend on plants or other organisms.
it's types are :
1) Saprophytic : These organisms feed on dead and decayed organisms for energy. ex: fungi, ghost plant (monotropa uniflora)
2) Parasitic : These organisms feed on other organisms by deriving out nutrients from the organism (host) .ex: Cuscuta plant and tapeworms.
3) Holozoic : This involves feeding of solid and liquid foods by means of ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation and excretion. ex: humans, amoeba
